Glen Cannel

Exciting horse when he won his first two hurdle starts at Market Rasen and Ayr, went into much deeper company at Musselburgh in a class 2 and ran a good 3rd. Lost his way abit since and had a spell in the Point-to-point field which seemed to help him, winning 2 hurdles at Perth in May and July. Interesting contender after a break.

Ran at both Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals, was a good 8th in the Grand Annual chase but looked to run below par at Aintree where he was tailed off in 10th. From a yard going great guns and could easily be involved here.

Hewick

Comes here race fit after winning only 16 days ago in a lowkey hurdle race and returns to chasing here. Fan Favourite who won the 2023 King George when looking like pulling up and then flew home to beat Bravemansgame and Allaho. Has not returned to that form since and has only won 2 weak hurdle races at Thurles. Ran in the 2025 Grand National and finished 8th on ground that was a touch slow for him that day and maybe he didn't stay the extended 4 miles 2 furlongs. Tough race but match fit against rivals starting the season here.
